Collect and preserve data touching the history of the towns of Sedgwick and Brooklin; collect and preserve articles, specimens, and material things illustrative or demonstrative of the customs, modes, and habits of the early settlers in said towns; to acquire, preserve, and protect historical sites in said towns; to perpetuate the memory of those, who by their labors and heroism contributed to make the history of said towns;
