About the Presenters
Jonathan Howard joined the Edgility team in 2021, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in recruitment and management experience. During his tenure with Democracy Prep Public Schools in New York City, Jonathan was instrumental in expanding the network’s impact from one to 22 schools with over 1,000 teachers, leaders, and staff. He also developed a pipeline of executive director and school leadership candidates for potential expansion opportunities, experience that he now leverages for Edgility clients. Jonathan also spent time as Vice President of School Experience and Growth at ed-tech startup Selected, an online platform that matches teachers with schools.
As an Associate Partner at Edgility Jonathan specializes in Executive Search and has worked to build a high-performing search team with a strong focus on equity and efficiency.
Jonathan is particularly passionate about supporting anyone from an underrepresented group, whether a person of color or one whose identity has been marginalized historically, to get access to and ultimately thrive in leadership positions in organizations that aspire to their values. His primary focus is to connect with and find great people to fill the critical roles that push organizations forward.
Joshua Lachs is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of education access, workforce development, and innovative higher education. As a first-generation college graduate, his early life challenges have deeply influenced his commitment to creating opportunities for others. Before joining Edgility Consulting, Josh served as the CEO of Moneythink, a national education technology nonprofit that provides college affordability solutions for traditionally underrepresented students. His leadership at Moneythink was instrumental in driving the organization’s mission to empower students with financial tools and resources.
Previously, Josh was the Dean of Extended University at JFK University, where he co-founded and led the Institute of Entrepreneurial Leadership. This private-public business accelerator aimed to scale entrepreneurship and job creation across the US, resulting in the establishment of over 100 new small businesses, the creation of 2,000 new jobs, and generating approximately $1B in gross revenues. At Edgility Consulting, Josh continues to leverage his extensive experience and passion for equitable education and economic security to drive impactful solutions for clients.
