Join Nonprofit Vote as we explore the important role nonprofits can and should play in voter engagement. This includes EASY and practical ways to get started, as well as how to support the organizations doing this critical work!

Learn best practices for voter registration, understand the legal considerations for nonpartisan activities, and walk through Maine's newest nonprofit toolkit: a Nonprofit & Funder Voter Engagement Guide (coming soon!).

Join MANP, MPC, and Nonprofit Vote to learn more about engaging voters to build a more inclusive democracy!

Intended Audience:
  • Anyone affiliated with a nonprofit who does not currently encourage voter registration or voter participation
  • Staff and board members who aren't sure what nonprofits are allowed to legally do during election season
  • Staff members who work in advocacy and/or communications
  • Funders who are interested in understanding why this matters for our sector and how they can support their own grantees in this work

Cost + Registration

  • Free to both MANP members and nonmembers
  • Participants will receive login instructions in the registration confirmation e-mail as well as in reminder emails that will be sent one day and one hour prior to the event.
  • This webinar will be recorded and available to all registered participants for 30 days after the event. Participants who are unable to attend live will still have access to all materials.
  • This MANP-hosted webinar will be hosted in Zoom Meeting and we ask participants turn off their cameras and mute themselves when joining.

About the Presenter

Gwen Stembridge (she/her) comes to this work with experience as a community organizer, policy analyst, volunteer program manager, and nonprofit professional. She has worked with and been trained by organizations such as AmeriCorps VISTA, the Episcopal Service Corps, the Industrial Areas Foundation, United Way, Points of Light Foundation/HandsOn, Leadership Lorain County, SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice), The Catalyst Project’s Anne Braden Program, The inaugural Equality Federation Game Change Cohort, and The Management Center.

Her most recent professional experience has focused on LGBTQ+ education and advocacy at the local, state, and national level at both Equality Ohio and The Trevor Project. She is excited to bring her community organizing and training background to strengthen the existing training partnership opportunities at Nonprofit VOTE and make our democracy more accessible to all.

Raised in the Atlanta area, she lived the past 13 years in Ohio, primarily Cleveland, and has just settled back in the Southeast with her wife and dog.
