Pro Bono Legal Assistance
Thanks to the generous support of partners at Bernstein Shur, Eaton Peabody, Law Office of Robert H. Levin, Peter Gutermann, Pierce Atwood, and Providentia Group we are able to offer our members a limited amount of free legal advice on topics delineated below.
This benefit entitles members in good standing to a telephone (or Zoom) consultation of up to 30 minutes in duration. Please note: the process of matching to a legal partner can take some time; we aren’t always able to accommodate time-sensitive questions.
- Governance rules (bylaws, voting, decision making, conflicts of interest, etc.)
- Charitable registration and solicitation laws
- 501(c)(3) regulations (lobbying, private inurement, etc.)
- Tax issues (federal, state, or property tax)
- Charitable giving
- Fiscal sponsorship
- Employment law
Drafting, reviewing or filing legal documents is outside the scope of this benefit.

This benefit entitles members in good standing to a telephone (or Zoom) consultation of up to 30 minutes in duration. - Federal and state compliance questions
- 990 and 990-T filing requirements
- 403(b) audit issues
- Application of accounting standards
- Internal control issues

Risk Management Technical Assistance
We are proud to be an affiliate member of Nonprofit Risk Management Center (NRMC). MANP members are eligible for unlimited answers to risk management questions through NRMC's Risk Help™ program.
