Theater at Monmouth

Theater At Monmouth, The Shakespearean Theater of Maine, is devoted to the enrichment of Northern New England by producing in repertory classical theater which entertains and educates our audience. Using Shakespeare as the touchstone, we choose plays which honor, explore, and extend the power of language; providing opportunity for verbal subtlety, inventiveness and vocal variety from the actor. Our home, the Victorian opera house Cumston Hall, provides a unique, intimate background for productions which emphasize the interaction between actors and audience, linking person to person, and linking us to our past.
