Penobscot Theatre Company's (PTC) mission is to achieve artistic excellence while developing and presenting works of theatre that inspire the imagination and cultivate a lifelong passion for the art form. We are committed to providing outreach to students and audiences throughout the region, by which our work cultivates connections, and collaborations. We do this by: Producing and presenting high-quality, professional theatre that inspires the imagination and cultivates a lifelong passion for the art form. Developing and enriching new and exciting audience members and artists by presenting challenging and innovative stagings of plays and musicals - new and classic. Working with a mix of community based and professional actors, designers and directors. Collaborating with other organizations to provide programs and produce theatre that has real-life connections. Reaching thousands of Maine students through our comprehensive educational theatre program and providing theatre experiences and training to students of all ages through our in-house workshops. Making our physical space (the historic Bangor Opera House) available as a community gathering place for active exchange about culture and various forms of creativity, assessable to all members of our community.
