Maine Island Trail Association

The Maine Island Trail Association (“MITA”) is a 9,500-member organization dedicated to the stewardship and enjoyment of the islands of coastal Maine. Through 35 years of community-building, stewardship, and education, MITA has developed a model of thoughtful use and volunteer stewardship of Maine’s wild islands, creating an inspiring recreational water trail that is cared for by the people who use it.
