Organization Overview

Lewiston Auburn Youth Network is ethnic-based nonprofit organization founded in 2020 by a group of
New Mainers who band together with shared interests. As members of our community, we have
significant experience with the issues and challenges we seek to solve. And of course, we are well aware
of the pressing needs, challenges, barriers, focus areas, priorities, strengths, weaknesses of our immigrant and refugee youth. We intend to devote our time, energy, skills, knowledge, talent, and use our own experiences to tackle the long overdue issues and achieve a sustainable, inclusive, and stable society. Our members have a shared commitment to study and resolve emerging issues between the youth and their families and the cultural systems that drive our relationships. Our purpose is to enrich the lives of
underserved immigrant and refugee youth who came from low-income background families. The aim is to
provide guidance and promote positive youth development and offer them a safe space to explore their
full potential, feel empowered to take charge of their lives and equip them with the skills necessary to achieve success. We believe in youth-friendly initiatives—by inspiring and engaging young people in causes they deeply care about that effects their own lives. We want to engage in and utilize the
experiences, knowledge, inputs, and the skills of our youth and encourage them to play an active role in the design, implementation, and execution of our youth-friendly initiatives.
