Independent Sector has created an excellent website summarizing the Corporation for National and Community Service's annual calculations of the value of volunteer time. Use these figures to quantify the enormous value volunteers provide your organization and community.
Nonprofit Good Practices Guide's Volunteer Section
This state of the art website, a project of the
Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership in Michigan, offers a wide range of resources for volunteer engagement including case studies in best practices and resources on effectively managing, training, recruiting, recognizing, and rewarding volunteers.
VolunteerMaine.org
The site is home to a statewide volunteer database a tool for tracking volunteer hours, another for creating listservs, and many resources for volunteer management in Maine.
The Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration
The Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration advances the profession and practice of volunteer resource management. Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) is the only international professional certification in the field of volunteer resources management. The CVA credential reflects mastery of the knowledge required of practitioners in this field as measured through an exam and peer assessment process.
Association of Leaders in Volunteer Management (ALIVE)
ALIVE began as the Congress of Volunteer Administrators Associations (COVAA), which formed as a result of a historical convening of official representatives of existing associations of volunteer program managers. It is an effort to bring together existing local, regional and national organizations of volunteerism leaders to form a new national organization.
