MANP conducts regular research on Maine's Nonprofit Sector to help organizations and individuals better understand the vital role of nonprofits in Maine's quality of life.

  Philanthropy
  Despite the importance of nonprofit organizations in Maine, relatively little research has been conducted to examine the general public’s awareness of and attitudes toward nonprofits; nor has there been much research into charitable giving habits, and motivations for giving.  This survey collected responses on these topics from 401 randomly selected Maine adults interviewed in February 2010.

• Partners in Prosperity: The Maine Nonprofit Sector Impact 2008
  This report summarizes data on Maine 's nonprofits, and illustrates the significant role this sector plays in Maine's economy. The primary sources for these data are 2005 annual reports filed with the IRS by charitable nonprofits with over $25,000 in gross annual receipts.
  
  
• Maine Nonprofit Employment Report
  This report presents information on paid employment in the private nonprofit sector in Maine as of the second quarter of 2002. The report draws on data generated by the Maine Department of Labor through the quarterly surveys of Maine workplaces.
