- How do I know if my organization
is a member of the Maine Association of Nonprofits?
Our online member list is updated weekly. Look for your organization's
name here.
- We are not members of the
Maine Association of Nonprofits, but we are participating
in the survey and are very interested in the results. Can
and/or should we join MANP to get the report for free?
Yes, you can join MANP at anytime before the publication of
this report and if you have met the participation requirements,
you will receive the report free of charge.
The full retail price of this report is $300 for non-participating,
non-members. This savings alone provides significant value
for your MANP membership. For more information on membership

- How will I know if you have
received my survey in time?
Please be sure to include your e-mail address on page 4 of
the questionnaire so that we can send you a confirmation acknowledging
the receipt of your completed survey.
- I am confused by the cost
table on the first page. What is it for?
This page is for you to reserve a copy of the 2004 Report
on Wages & Benefits in Maine's Nonprofit Organizations.
We expect the report to be published in the early fall of
2004.
- How confidential is this
data when we are asked to include our organization name and
contact information?
Contact information is removed from sensitive data as soon
as it arrives in our office. The questionnaires are coded,
and the sections are pulled apart and sorted for the teams
that analyze the wage data, the demographics data, and the
benefits data. Analysts will not know the source of
the data.
We ask for your contact information to ensure your participation
discount. The MANP Project Coordinator may also use this information
to contact you should analysts need clarification on your
responses.
- Many of our staff fall into
a category that does not fit any of the job descriptions.
Although I understand that I should not complete information
on these employees, I feel that my and other organizations
would benefit greatly from the sharing of this information.
What should we do?
In deciding which job descriptions to include, we
were cognizant that not all job statistics would be collected.
Part of the job of this questionnaire is not only to determine
nonprofit remuneration, but also to determine where the jobs
lie.
If you would like to add a job description, send in a copy
of that description, along with the corresponding wage statistics,
with your completed survey. If we receive enough entries
for a particular job category, we will include the data in
this year's report and also add it to the questionnaire for
the next report.
- I am the only employee in
our one-person shop. Since I wear many hats, how should
I report my salary?
One person shops usually have an executive director, a coordinator,
or an administrative assistant level employee. Please pick
the job description and qualification level that best fits
your situation. The organization's budget size will identify
the one-person-shop multi-taskers.
