Our Mission:
The Maine Association of Nonprofits is a statewide, membership
organization representative of and a champion for Maine nonprofits.
Our mission is to strengthen the leadership, voice, and organizational
effectiveness of our state's nonprofits so that they can better
enrich the quality of community and personal life in Maine.
MANP works to support nonprofit leaders in Maine
in the following ways:
- Education & Resources: MANP provides support
for a highly skilled and well governed sector through regional
skill based workshops, conferences and online resources.
- Group Services: Through its Nonprofits First Coalition,
MANP provides its members with cost efficiencies for health
and dental insurance, retirement planning and many other valuable
employee benefits.
- Advocacy: MANP advocates for a greater understanding
of the impact of nonprofit work in the community through educational
forums, legislative alerts, and tools such as economic impact
and wage and benefit surveys.
Our Guiding Principles:
- Promote high standards of ethics and accountability in the
sector.
- Focus on the common needs of Maine's nonprofit organizations.
- Secure recognition of the vital role of nonprofits in our
communities.
- Maximize involvement of constituents and friends of the
sector at all levels of service delivery.
- Be accessible to constituents through consideration of location,
size, economic and mission differences.
- Collaborate and partner to expand resources for Maine's nonprofits.
- Foster and celebrate the joy and spirit of public and community
service.
