What are The Yellow Pages?
The Yellow Pages were created in 2007 to meet the needs of MANP’s nonprofit members and Maine’s entire nonprofit community.

Our online directory consists of vendors, consultants, nonprofits and others who provide services or products to nonprofits in Maine. The Yellow Pages can assist you with anything from finding an accountant to designing your nonprofit’s website.

Who is listed in The Yellow Pages?
The vendors listed in The Yellow Pages are either nonprofit members or Friends of MANP at the Supporter level or higher, who posted their listings as a benefit of membership.

Are the vendors in The Yellow Pages screened by MANP?
Not necessarily. The content of the listings has not been reviewed or edited by MANP. Listing in The Yellow Pages does not constitute an endorsement of the individual, business or organization by MANP.

MANP understands that no single firm can meet the needs of every nonprofit. We encourage organizations to seek competitive bids and negotiate the best deal for their organization. As you do so, consider learning more about these MANP partners and cost-saving programs and how they might be able to save your organization time and money.

MANP recommends the following procedures prior to contracting with vendors listed on this site:

  • Be clear about the type of service you need.
  • Be open and honest about your service needs.
  • Ask what the service-provider can do to assist your organization.
  • Ask for and check references before signing a contract or agreement.
  • Get a written agreement that outlines expectations of each party, the goals and all associated costs.
  • Communicate openly.
  • Let the service-provider know when things are going well and when you are unhappy with the progress.

For additional information on working with consultants, check the resource box on the prior page.

Who are the endorsed vendors and how did they get chosen?
MANP established the Nonprofits First Employers Coalition in 1997 to develop essential employee programs and services that address the unique concerns of nonprofit employers in Maine and to save nonprofits time and money. Our endorsed vendors, Healey & Associates, Unemployment Services Trust (UST), and Ingraham, are part of this coalition and were selected through a competitive bidding process. Through our endorsed provider relationship these organizations are marketed exclusively in their industry.

Why are some Vendors Marked as MANP SkillBuilder Presenters?
MANP is extremely grateful to the highly skilled nonprofit professionals & consultants that offer their expertise free of charge to Maine’s nonprofit community.  SkillBuilder and Conference presenters have been screened by MANP to ensure quality of information and delivery of materials. Individuals marked with an asterix (*) in The Yellow Pages have offered at least two trainings with MANP in the past year and have received favorable reviews.

Does MANP poll its members about their experiences with any of the vendors listed in The Yellow Pages?
Yes. As part of our ongoing customer service and quality control, MANP staff will provide opportunities for membership to comment on the quality of services provided by listed vendors. MANP reserves the right to remove any vendor from The Yellow Pages.
