Education is a core component of MANP’s programs and services. As a MANP member, your staff, board of directors and volunteers can receive significant discounts on a variety of training programs:

MANP SkillBuilder & Conference Discounts

MANP members and Friends receive a 50% discount to MANP's high quality SkillBuilders. SkillBuilders feature nonprofit management training in half and full-day seminars on a wide variety of topics and in several locations around the state.

A limited number of SkillBuilder scholarships are available to allow nonprofits with limited resources to attend relevant trainings.

MANP members and Friends also receive a 30% discount to MANP's Annual Leadership Conference. MANP hosts the conference each year in conjunction with Colby College in Waterville. The conference is designed to advance, connect, and strengthen Maine's nonprofit sector leadership.

Dale Carnegie Training® of Maine Offers scholarships

Based in South Portland and offering programs in South Portland and other cities around the state, Dale Carnegie Training of Maine has been working with MANP to bring its training programs to the nonprofit sector.

Dale Carnegie Training of Maine awards the Maine Association of Nonprofits $15,000 in scholarship discount grants annually.

Grants are allocated in $1,000 denominations and are awarded to fifteen (15) MANP members annually. Applicants must be employees or volunteers of nonprofit organizations that are MANP members in good standing.

Grants are available for the following courses:

• Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Communication and Human Relations
• Leadership Training for Managers
• The Leadership Advantage
• Sales Advantage
• How to Sell Like a Pro
• High Impact Presentations
• Strictly Business - The Dale Carnegie Immersion Seminar
• What Got You Here Won't Get You There

Courses cost $1595 to $1995 and the scholarship covers $1000 of this cost. Price includes manuals/books and instruction. View the schedule.

New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits Training Discount

Did you know that MANP members receive the member rate on workshops offered by The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits?  Trainings topics include strategic planning, fundraising and development, human resources.  Member rates are typically just $45.  Please view their website for a complete list of their trainings.

Institute for Civic Leadership (ICL) Offers MANP Members Training Discounts

MANP and the Institute for Civic Leadership (ICL) share a commitment to strengthening nonprofit boards of directors.  As such, both organizations offer workshops on different aspects of board work at various locations across Maine.  We are currently coordinating our planning to ensure that all nonprofits in Maine are informed of the many educational resources available to help develop stronger nonprofit boards.

Nonprofit Risk Management Center

As an added benefit of MANP’s satellite office relationship with the Nonprofit Risk Management Center (NRMC), MANP members are eligible for a 10% discount off the cost of any Webinar sponsored by the Center. Each Webinar covers a specific risk management topic and they take place from 2-3 p.m. one Wednesday each month. Access this high level risk management training from the comfort of your own computer.

Capitol Computers

Capitol Computers, located at 151 Water Street in Augusta, offers instructor led and self-directed computer training in over 30 software and system programs. Capitol Computers is offering technology trainings, usually priced at $190, to MANP’s nonprofit members at the MANP member fee of $90. MANP’s for-profit Friends members are offered a discounted rate of $170 per class. Spaces for attendees at the discounted rates are subject to availability, so please register early!

Diosa Communications Webinars

MANP members can receive a 25% discount on all Diosa Communications webinars. The webinars are offered two to three times a month, and span all topics of social media (such as LinkedIn, My Space, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, blogging and more), and ways nonprofits can successfully use these tools. The webinars begin at 1 pm and last for an hour and a half. Simply mention that you’re a member of MANP when you register to receive the discount.
