About Nonprofit Risk Management Center

The Nonprofit Risk Management Center was established in 1990 to provide assistance and resources for community-serving nonprofit organizations. As a nonprofit, the Center is uniquely positioned to both understand and respond to questions with practical, affordable suggestions for controlling risks that threaten a nonprofit’s ability to accomplish its mission. Visit them online at www.nonprofitrisk.org. External Link

The following tools are available through our satellite relationship:

My Risk Management Plan

My Risk Management Plan is an affordable online software program that helps nonprofit leaders create customized risk management plans for their organizations.   If your nonprofit is like countless others across the country, you've got terrific risk management strategies in place, but you don't have a resource that effectively tracks and catalogs your efforts.

My Risk Management Plan is an affordable way to bring your existing policies into a format that it can be easily shared with those that require evidence of a plan.  The one-time cost for a license allowing unlimited use by MANP member organizations is $79 and the nonmember price is $139.

My Financial Management Plan

My Financial Management Plan is an easy-to-use online tool that helps you organize and integrate the key components of your financial management system into a plan that you can share with your Finance Committee, senior management, Board of Directors, or others who "need to know." The tool is modular--which means that you can decide whether to complete the entire program or simply focus on the topics that seem most relevant to your nonprofit. All of your answers, input and uploaded files will be saved on a secure server and ready for your review and use when you return to My Financial Management Plan.  This easy-to-use tool helps organizations:

  • Pull together all financial policies, practices and requirements in a single place.
  • Integrates your finance, accounting, budgeting and reporting needs.
  • Incorporate funder, contractor, IRS and other mandates to ensure you don’t drop the ball on any stakeholder.
  • Improves communication between staff, board, funders and other stakeholders.
  • Streamlines work and saves time.

The cost for an initial three-year license is $189 for MANP members (a $50 discount off the regular price of $239); renewals are $79 for three years. Contact Jessica Lantos to receive the discount.

My Risk Management Policies

My Risk Management Policies was developed to help you create custom policies for your nonprofit. In a matter of minutes, you'll be able to create policies that suit the mission, culture, and circumstances of your organization. You will be free from the guilt (and dread) associated with copying another organization's policies, and you will be taking a giant leap forward to protect the vital mission of your nonprofit.  With this tool you will be able to:

  • Create risk management policies tailored to the mission, culture and circumstances of your nonprofit.
  • Receive step by step guidance to create a wide range of policies addressing the risks your nonprofit faces.
  • Avoid the pitfalls of using generic “sample” policies that rarely prove adequate to address your nonprofit’s individual circumstances and avoide increasing your exposure to loss by adopting ill-suited policies.
  • Manage your policies by returning to the site as often as needed and add, delete or modify your policies as your circumstances warrant.  There is no extra fee and your policies will be saved on site until you delete them.

The one-time cost for a license is $139 for members of MANP (a $40 discount off the regular price of $179).  Please contact Jessica Lantosto receive the discount and get started!
